gws57 (988), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Dec 4, 2005 Had this one bottled. Pleasantly hoppy although, for an IPA, a bit too alcoholic in the finish. Not terrible.
Rune_Stumo (78), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Aug 30, 2008 30.08.2008, 0,35l, Bottle. 2007 edition, BB 0810/08A. Golden amber colour with some haze. The beer has almost no head, but it is lively carbonated. Malt and citrus aroma, or is it orange? The bitter hops dominate the aftertaste. ajm (331), USA Aug 29, 2008 Super-dee-duper. Bottle from Wally’s in Westwood. Easily the prettiest IPA I have ever encountered: a deep mahogany readies one for a much more alien beer. A blast of sweet hops (alphas?), apple, cranberry peel greet the mouth upon consumption. A beer whose very existence demands celebration. timsilvia32 (204), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Aug 28, 2008 Clear amber pour, good whitish head. Malty, hop aromas let you know what to expect. A little bitey, but finishes clean. Kind of like a good version of their pale. Pompey (21), Longmont, Colorado, USA Aug 28, 2008 Copper brown pour with a moderate head on a clear pour. A nice caramel hop nose. This is what I think of when I think of big American Ale. Full bodied, but not that big. Lovely malt sweetness followed by full fresh hop blast. The hops define this ale. Balance is lovely as it hides the alcohol nicely. Flavor blast comes on a bit too strong but finishes nicely with a sweet aftertaste. Malts are evident, beautifully so. daknole (694), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 22, 2008 Nice amber pour, wtih a whtish head. Aroma is citrus, floral and juicy hops. Taste is very hoppy and finish is quite bitter.
