Draft at Mucky Duck in Monterey, CA. Small head, some lace, blast of citrus, grain as opposed to malt, neither sweet nor bitter. Really well balanced with nice execution.

Draft, served with an friggin lemon! Very pale yellow and clear with a white head. Wheat and lemon aroma although the lemon may be a result of the lemon on the glass. Faint malt and wheat aroma. Actually very nice although I’m not a huge fan of the style.

Draft @ HDG. Light gold color with a small head. Aroma is light banana and grass. Taste is banana and sweet grains with a decent yeastiness. Too light for my liking although the palate is really smooth.

Draft, Clear pale straw color with a low white head. Malt and wheat flavor with some citrus backing. Easy drinking. Just a typical filtered American wheat with little to offer.

Draft at Hangman’s in Placerville, CA. The American wheat version of a Krystalwiezen? Very clear yellow. Nice white head. Not a lot of wheat aroma like I expected, but it was citrusy and malty. Classic Sierra Nevada. Nice Citrus hops in the finish. Some wheat characters in the middle. Okay stuff.

On tap at Issac Newton’s, Pours pale golden with a small white head, aroma of citrus, sweet malts, and slight hoppy presence. Flavor is very citrusy, sweet, wheat, slight hoppy bitterness. Good body, average brew.

@ Great Alaskan Barleywine Festival ’06. Good nose, citrusy. Hoppy little guy. Lemony herby. Clean greenish(can’t believe it either, but that’s what I saw)yellow color, small head with minor lacing. Bitter sweet flavor. Tastes like a hop flower in my mouth. Lemon, wheat. Medium body, crisp yet creamy mouthfeel, dryish finish. Seems like a good summer brew.

On tap at the 06 Great Alaska Beer and Barley wine Festival. Pale gold color with a thin fizzy head. Lively nose with some lemon rind, yeast and I swear a little feet. Lightness in the body that makes it very easy to drink (I wish it were summer). Lemon/lime citrus with a buscuit doughiness. Clean and crisp and a good American wheat.
