I have the 2009 version, good color, not much for aroma... malts, smooth but not overwhelming taste. good brew, not great. buzzoven (333), Japan
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2009 What a beautiful colour...deep mahogany with a slight tan head. Whiff os oak and cherry. Taste was a bit on the tart side with a citrusy bite and a balanced bitter crisp finish. Very enjoyable. NDbeerdrinker (164), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Pours a golden color with a 2 finger fluffy white head. Just kind of mild and uninteresting overall, but easy drinking and a little bit of a nice spice flavor in the end. Prefer SNPA to this one. gotohelunc (476), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Draft at Tyler’s. Nice little grapefruit aroma flavor and nose, sharp bitterness. Fnishes cleanly and some pepper. It really tastes a lot like the standard Sierra pale ale, just cranked up a notch and a bit more spicy. Good stuff for a style I’m usually not that into. It probably didn’t hurt that it was draft and super fresh. WISEGUY572 (1246), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Signature crystal clear Sierra copper brew, draft, with a great white head that leaves good lacing. Signature Sierra slam of Cascade with a sweet malt backbone and a lovely mouthfeel. And yet ... this has sneaky floral classic European hopping and floral grassy notes as well. More of an IPA to my way of thinking than an ESP. I really love the combination of Cascade and Goldings or Fuggles. Nice brew. smith4498 (921), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Pours clear copper with off white head. Floral hop and bready aromas. Caramel flavor with mild hop bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation and a slightly bitter aftertaste. A nice session brew. BustedFlat (554), Edina, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2009 Poured copper color with a light tan head. Aroma of grassy hops. Some sweet caramel notes up front, but those quickly disappear. Earthy hops with a hint of spice and a pronounced bitterness as it warms. coldbrewky (736), Saugerties, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2009 Bottle: this is pretty good aout of the bottle and improves a bit in the glass, but not by much. Pours an unburnished copper. Typical dense head that leaves little lacing. Nose is of watery, sweetened grapefruit. Malt and hop tones are weak in nose. Body is medium and has a fair flow of carbonation when in the glass (thanks John). Mouthfeel gets going right away with the well rounded malts in a dervish with a slight yeast tang (not the unfiltered I am used to) and rounds out with a solid hop finsih. Goes down easy and nice with pizza.
