Commercial Description:
Our ESB blends the best of English tradition with the boldness of West Coast style. A blend of malts featuring British-grown Maris Otter is balanced with the earthy spiciness of hand-selected English and US hops. The ale is left unfiltered which enhances mouthfeel and hop aroma creating a slightly reddish copper hue.

Bottle. Mild floral and fruit aroma. Light orange amber body, white head. Pleasant lightly bitter citrus and floral flavor, with a nice bitter finish. Refreshing and satisfying.

Bottle served in a shaker glass. Pours light amber topped by a half inch of lasting head. Lots of grass on the nose along with a touch of toffee. Does a fair job of replicating English "character". Flavor is somewhat grassy, caramel, and earth. Way more bitter than your average ESB with a thinner body. Even thoguh this is the first time I have ever had this beer it feels very familiar though not really reminiscent of other ESBs more like Sam Adams Boston Lager. It isn’t bad but if I want an ESB this is not what I would be looking for.

Pours a nice copper color, has a better aroma and taste once it warms a bit. Aroma of biscuit, toast, caramel. Flavor is about the same. Has a harsh lingering bitterness that’s not too appealing. Seems very similar to the Pale Ale, just different malts and hops.

pours a hazy light amber color with a thick foamy white head. aroma has light caramel, nutttiness, and light spicy hops. nicely balanced flavor is much like the aroma suggests. mouthfeel is a touch thin but the hops and dry finish bring it back to life.

Bottle. Pours burnt amber with a white head. Floral hops in the nose, and a touch of caramel malt. Flavor has primary sweetness along with English hops and tea. Another solid brew by Sierra Nevada, though not as exciting as their other offerings.

The English flavors combined with the drinkability of Sierra Nevada beer make for a very nice beer. One of Sierra Nevada’s best seasonal beers.

12oz bottle from Orland Park Binny’s. Pours clear copper with white head. Aroma is malty with some caramel. Flavor is malty with some hop bitterness and caramel. Nice malt backbone but boring. LIght mouthfeel and a little watery.

IBottle. I like this. Coppery color with a good head. Tastes malty with a hint of hops. Dry finish. A good session beer.
