Feb 8, 2009 12 oz bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. Copper color. Sweetish, toffeish and fruity aroma with some orange marmelade and lemon. Dryer malty flavor with toffee, minerals, some biscuity maltiness, some orange marmelade and some lemon. Rounded and drinkable. Has Sierra Nevada houseflavor with fairly restrained fruitiness and biscuity maltiness. Could have more of these ESB elements.

Feb 7, 2009 Updated: Feb 10, 2009500th United States Rating: Poured from a 12oz bottle (2009 Edition) and served in an English pint glass. This beer poured a clear copper hue with a two-finger thick head of light beige foam that settled into a lasting cap. Nice lace work. The aroma consisted of toasted grains, caramel, and orange zest. The flavor included lemon and orange zest, light caramel, and bread. Lightly bitter. Very mild and clean. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and had light carbonation. Clean and quaffable, but I would have prefered a little stronger malt profile.

Feb 6, 2009 2009, 12 oz bottle. Pours opaque copper, nice off-white head and really nice lacing. Aroma is distincly Sierra Nevada, but the flavor is pretty mild: I think this is probably the result of having drank SN’s Celebration Ale at 6.8% for the entire winter.
I have a feeling this one will be much more enjoyable as the weather starts to turn.

Pours a dark gold with a medium white head.
Aroma is nice floral and light citrus hop, bready caramel maltiness under that.
Flavour is medium maltiness, not too sweet though and quickly overtaken by the floral/herbal bitterness.

Feb 6, 2009 Picked up a six pack at the Hy-Vee in Coralville, IA. Another good beer from Sierra Nevada, though perhaps not as bitter as one would be led to believe. Worth a try.

Feb 5, 2009 I have to say, I was surprised by how good this beer was. I find that most fusion-style beers fall flat, but this one is solid. You do get a nice earthy, green-wood element in the aroma and the flavor has a nice piney hop twang on the finish. Good beer.

Feb 4, 2009 Poursa nice crisp copper with a 2 finger chunky off white head that has great retention. Aroma is straw, sour grain, a hint of toast and some barnyard smells, not good ones. Flavor is better, spicy pine and citrus right away, straw, toast, caramel, and some nice bitterness to the finish. Body is mdeium thin, creamy and kind of sticky to the lips. Not bad to taste, but the aroma has many of the less than attractive characteristics I find in alot of English PA’s and ESB’s.

Feb 3, 2009 12o bottle. Dark amber color with a big white head. Light malt and light hop aroma. Smooth flavor, somewhat mild, but with a nice hop presence in the finish that lasts for a good while, tasty.
