Commercial Description:
Our ESB blends the best of English tradition with the boldness of West Coast style. A blend of malts featuring British-grown Maris Otter is balanced with the earthy spiciness of hand-selected English and US hops. The ale is left unfiltered which enhances mouthfeel and hop aroma creating a slightly reddish copper hue.

Bottle. The beer pours a hazy orange-golden body under a quite small, off-white head. Caramel, a little touch of beefstock, and a pleasant hop-profile in the aroma. The flavor is a tad better than the aroma, more pronounced, and with the same malty and hoppy profile. Lasting hoppy finish with some bitterness, but more fruity. Some caramel sweetness too. Full-bodied. A nice and quenching beer. (081031)

Bottled. A slightly hazy dark copper coloured beer with an off-white pool of bubbles for a head. A nice piney hoppy aroma. Same in the mouth with some nettles and spicy hop. Decent bitterness and certainly a US take on the style ESB. Nice.

Bottle. Pours an orange color with a huge white head. Perfect for early spring. Lots of lacing on the side of the glass. Has a bitter aftertaste. Very drinkable and easy on the palate. Great beer.

I thought this was quite a refreshing and enjoyable offering. A bit of bready maltiness and some corn like grain. Decent bitter finish.
