| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Bottle. Light to moderate malt aroma of roasted, light herbs and leather for the hops and yeast, with notes of date and bourbon. Head is large, frothy, slightly off white, has good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy orange tan. Flavor is lightly acidic to start and the long finish is lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, dry and has a lively carbonation. It finishes lightly astringent. The dryness in the finish without a lot of astringency was impressive. Joakgust (337), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2008 355 ml bottle - Amber colored beer with a fine medium large head. Aroma is very distinct Sierra Nevada with hints of unripened sweet citrus fruits. Flavor is very typical americanized ESBs’ with a nice maltiness to it. Again a an extremely enjoyable beer from Sierra Nevada. Very much american with lots of hops balanced nicely with the malt. Nothing extreme, just real good.
