Commercial Description:
Our ESB blends the best of English tradition with the boldness of West Coast style. A blend of malts featuring British-grown Maris Otter is balanced with the earthy spiciness of hand-selected English and US hops. The ale is left unfiltered which enhances mouthfeel and hop aroma creating a slightly reddish copper hue.

Slightly hazy amber with lasting off-white head. Aroma of malts, spice and some hops. Flavor is malty with a little caramel, spices and a slightly bitter hop finish. Very well balanced and very good and drinkable beer.

Bottle. Amber/orange color, offwhite head. Malty caramel aroma with some grassy notes. Rather malty flavor, almost creamy, caramel, some hay, some grass, fruity notes, some citrus, some floral notes. Floral, grassy finish. Refreshing...

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 25 April 2008) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of toffee, caramel, dark fruit and earthy hops. Initially malty taste with toffee and dark fruit, leading to a bittersweet finish with heavy notes of earthy hops staying at the back of the tongue. Complex, but with nice balance. Medium to full body, fairly sweet. Very nice one, but I would probably have to try the bottled version as well.

Nice sessional beer, slightly different than SNPA. Enough hop to taste, but decent balance. Nice head and lacing. Simple amber color with creamy/ off white head. Very easy to drink. Again, a nice beer to have on hand.

Bottle (35 cl) from Systembolaget. Hazy amber with a large off-white head. Malty and slightly caramelly, with earthy and floral hops, and some faint apricot notes. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Well balanced with a long, bitter finish. Quite good, but a bit anonymous.

6 pack of 12oz bottles from the "big E" in Easthampton... The Big E has a decent selection of beer and I can see it is across the street from my apartment. This beer tastes like a british-style bitter with a hint of west coast hops. The flavs are nuts, honey, and grassy hops. I like it.

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a medium hazy orange with a thin film of off-white bubbles. Aroma is of rich grains, grass and fruit. Taste is of rich grains with dominant grassy hops and some fruit notes. Crisp with good carbonation. Ending is a prolonged aftertaste of bitterness.
