| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2008 well balanced and smooth. A nice copper color with a off-white head which had mild retention. Aroma was a mix of caramel malts, some grassy notes, and mild bittering hops. The flavor was was a bit more hoppy then the aroma indicated, but a smooth drink all the way through. good beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Poured from the bottle (2008) a dark yellow, golden and slightly amber with a nice head a decent lacing. Smells very hoppy. It is smooth on taste and gets bitter as it settles. This is a nice ESB. I found a great deal on a 12 pack at my local dealer so I gave it a shot and I’m very glad I did. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 15, 2008 I thought this was a good ESB - somewhat crisp (but not overly hoppy), crisp, and clean tasting.
Appearance was pretty clean and clear, with pretty plentiful and sturdy head formation. Aroma was hoppy in the British IPA sort of way - there but understated. Flavor was a bit coppery and clean and refreshing, but also somewhat hoppy. Mouthfeel was crisp and light without being watery.
I would recommend this beer. I bought this single-serve bottle at Woodman’s in Oak Creek, WI. RPillsbury (112), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England

Caramel, dark bread, grassy, light bitterness, bisquit, roasted, a bit boring. Goodgrief (1153), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2008 Beer pours a pale copper color, very clear with a moderate head and lacing. Faint aroma of bready malts. The flavor was caramel malts with bread notes. Some toffee hints as well. A very mild sweetness and a very mild bitter hop finish. English and american style malts and hops both discernible. An okay beer, not my favorite SN offering, but not bad either. Verga (12), Algonquin, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Poured with a very nice coppery appearance in the pint glass. Nose was refreshing, lightly floral and fruity. Good taste going down, not too bitter. The bitterness seems to come back at ya though. and lingers a while. At first I didn’t like that, as it seemed too dry. After a while though I became accustomed to it, and it didn’t bother me. Overall very good, but different due to the dryness.
