Commercial Description:
Our ESB blends the best of English tradition with the boldness of West Coast style. A blend of malts featuring British-grown Maris Otter is balanced with the earthy spiciness of hand-selected English and US hops. The ale is left unfiltered which enhances mouthfeel and hop aroma creating a slightly reddish copper hue.

Pours hazy orange with tall off-white head. Lots of lacing. Crisp bite up front, followed by bitter finish. Alcohol is evident -- nicely balanced overall. Decent, but not as good as their PA in my opinion.

A 12oz bottle with all kind no made on date. The beer pours a brown body with a light brown head. The smell of hops and other citrus. A good smooth taste and not overpowering. A six pack.

The Dan J ournal #163. Tasted 4/5/08. 12oz bottle. Slightly hazy and amber hued. White eye ball head. Slight head. Aromas of grassy hops and caramel. Medium bodied with big crisp bitterness. Slightly initial sweetness, but a huge bitterness. Tangy with a nice citrus note. Well done! Nice and fresh!

Bottle. Amber coloured with a slight off-white head. Sweet and spicy aroma. Flavour of grain, malt and a citric dry finish. A decent brew, but nothing special..

Pours a copper color with a moderate sized head. Aroma is some malts and spices but overall pretty clean. The flavor starts off with a touch of malt in the beginning then some bitter hops with all of it balanced quite well. Could perhaps use a little extra kick. Slightly dry with a hint of toffee or caramel sneaking through as the beer warms a little. I do see a lot of similarities to their Pale Ale. This would be a nice choice for a "regular" type of brew and I’m sure I’ll get it again.

Slightly hazy amber with lasting off-white head. Aroma of malts, spice and some hops. Flavor has a nice bready malt with a little caramel, peppery spice and a bitter hop finish. Very well balanced and very good for this style. Delicious and drinkable.
