| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 26, 2008 12oz bottle. Milky orange with frothy white head that stick around for a bit and laces nicely on the glass. Strong citrus aroma along with caramel & bread. Medium palate, dry bitter & peppery finish. Hops a little overpowering but not bad for my first ESB. presario (3002), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2008 12oz bottle. Attractive dark amber. Lasting good froth. Rich spicy hop aroma. Good malt base and flavour cuts through the hops. Hops are still strong but balanced nicely over the strong malt. Flavours of flowers and spice and malt. Spicy finish. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 24, 2008 tap - Pours mostly clear copper with a one finger white head. The mild aroma is of floral hops and a little malt in the background. The flavor is mildly bitter hops with a decent malt balance. It’s an easy beer to session though a little more bland than I’d like it to be. Overall it’s alright, but their pale ale is definitely better. killerK (14), Alamo, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 24, 2008 on draught early ’08. my first impression was of course English style ale on the nose with earthy European malt to give it the bread like or yeasty nose and earthy maltiness that are balanced by a good hop character. not one of my favorites but above average. illteez (11), Annandale, New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2008 (Bottle) Very bitter for an ESB, but good. Tastes almost like an American pale ale. Not my favorite or the most interesting of the Sierra Nevada brews, but good if you like bitter beers and want a change of pace. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Copper pour with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma, reminiscent of an English pale ale. Flavor is malty with a definite hope presence. Sort of like an ESB on steroids. Flavorful and smooth.
