Commercial Description:
This is one of the only estate-made ales available in the world today. Produced with hops and barley produced on the premises of our brewery in Chico, this ale reflects the flavors of our surroundings in California’s fertile central valley. By growing out own ingredients, we ensure the finest two-row barley and the freshest hops on earth, from the field and into the brew kettle.

While watching the villanova wm game with my freshmen roommate. Pours a clear orange amber with massive seafoam khaki head. Nose of grassy, skunky, weed hops, with a hint of fusel alcohol burn,. Flavor is resiny, piney, citrus with some caramel malt syrupiness. A little thin on the body. Very good IPA, but Way too fucking expensive though.

Pour is a nice amber color. Aroma is a little funky, earth, and grass. Slight mustiness to it that gives it a bit of a wild outdoorsy sort of vibe. Flavor is smooth caramel malt with a grassy herbal essence. Finish is slightly bitter but the hops are subtle here. Appreciate the local grown ingredients. I feel like I counteracted that by buying a bottle shipped across the country but whatever. Easily drinkable but not worth the $10.

24oz bomber. Pours a caramel brownish orange color with a big 2 finger head that laces nicely. Nose is pretty subdued, but I am getting bready caramel notes with some hints of orange in there and some fresh grassy notes. Also pick up some fireweed honey essence. Very earthy and dry on the palate with nice smooth bittering finish, but not over powering or abrasive. I am not sure what the hop varietal is that they are using here, but it isn’t as juicy and resinous as I prefer. Still, I think this beer is really cool in that hops and barley were grown on premise. Well made beer for sure.

Burnt amber in color with subtle aromas of flowers and pine. Medium bodied/carbonation, moderate bitterness, toasted malts, with a resinous/spicy hop mouthfeel and a dry finish. Very drinkable but too pricey to get more than one. I hope that Sierra can bring these prices down in the future for the estate beers.

The hop profile is very similar to their Torpedo IPA.Good but not as good as their brown label harvest beer. Aroma and mouthfeel is very oily. Really goes well with Asian food. Good beer overall but I expected more out of an Estate offering but with the ingredients taken from the estate maybe they were limited in what they could do. Not malty enough. Dry bitterness in the finish. Will not buy again.

aroma is of subtle pine, understated. while its’ style is obvious from just a whiff, it shows good restraint. also, the hops are well tempered by a grain bill that borders on floral and is reminiscent of qualities of other styles entirely. appearance is clear amber a shade towards dark. sticky lacing and lingering head. flavor is excessively balanced, chewy and substantial. piney hops push the aroma deeper, pointing towards light lemon notes that were missed initially. resin flavors linger along with the coating mouthfeel, sticky as the lacing that lines my glass.

Small tan head, very good retention with a coating lace. Clear amber copper color. Nose is light with pine and biscuity malts, lightly woodsy. Medium body with a fine carbonation lightly resiny and bitter bitter . Piney hoppiness, citrus flavors backed lightly with some faiint malts, hop dominant. Dry grainy finish with a swell bitterness. Nicely hopped big azz IPA well done SN!

Creamy, medium statured tan colored head, good lacing and retention, sticky and lasting. Orange colored body, copper hued. Nose of citrus, oranges and light lemon notes with toasty malts backing them. Body is fully medium with a prickly carbonation and lightly resiny. Fresh hop flavors of citrus, grass and pine with some light woody notes as well. Dry maltiness and a nice earthyness. Dry finish is lightly fruity with a solid bitterness. Bottle donated to the cause by my friend Robert @statelineliquors. Thanks much dude!

HH’s O-FEST TASTING: Citrus, bitter fruity hops, and toffee. Flavors of grapefruits, orange peelings, toffee, and buttered bread. Oily, full mouthfeel. Long bitter aftertaste. One of the highlights of the night. Grabbed a couple at the sale price as the rep told me of the regular cost. Fantastic brew.
