Commercial Description:
This is one of the only estate-made ales available in the world today. Produced with hops and barley produced on the premises of our brewery in Chico, this ale reflects the flavors of our surroundings in California’s fertile central valley. By growing out own ingredients, we ensure the finest two-row barley and the freshest hops on earth, from the field and into the brew kettle.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a deep clear amber with white head. Aroma is fruity, malty, with some nice citrus and hops. Flavor is malty, fruity, hoppy, pine, with so me grapefruit. Mouthfeel is medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, good stuff!

bottle thanks to emacgee. this one had been sitting in my closet for about 4 months i think. poured a hazy gold with a white head and some good lacing. aroma of caramel malt, citrus, and pine. flavor was the same. medium body with high carbonation. the malt was predominant in this one. i guess the hops faded.

Don’t know if this was the precursor to SN’s ESB or not but either way it was really, really good. Aroma was full of classic pine, hop resin and citrus/grapefruit zest really showed up as well. A subtle sweet aroma, reminded me a bit of toffee. Flavor has the intense, fresh hop flavor like chewing on a cascade hop pellet. Spicy and citrusy, with enough malt character to keep things in check. What ever SN is doing, hope they can keep it up!

Sampled as ’Sierra Nevada 20th St Harvest Ale’. Amber coloured body with a nice tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, metal and malt. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour with a nice malt backbone and a fruity aftertaste. Overall, hoppy and nice - different than the normal harvest! Good to try as well, back a few years ago! I sampled this beer on draught at O’Brien’s in San Diego, California on 23-September-2006.

Copper pour with small white head. Some citrus in the aroma and flavor with hops, finishes rather bitter but watery. Honestly could not tell if it was a pale ale or IPA, it really was that watered down.

Bottle sample at local BA gathering. Poured a clear copper color with a large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus, resin and earthy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met and this beer would go well with spicy food.

On tap at Rich O’s public house. Was a bit ill when I tried it, so my experience was marred. But I quite liked this one. Great hop taste with the right amoutn of maltiness.
