I was a little shocked to hear that a 24 oz of this stuff was going for $9.99 @ BEVMO... but I had to take a test drive! I’ve been waiting a while to taste this one. Wow! It pours a rich coppery color with a perfect head. Hop flavor... Yep it’s there and a whole lot more! Flavor hits well with a balace of the different malts! Well done Sierra Nevada! I think I have my favorite brew... as long as I save money for the weekend or if I don’t have any Pliny the Elder stocked in my freg Magicdave6 (5558), London, Greater London, England

Aroma is massive citrus, lychee, seriously fresh amazing hop character. Taste is similar, bitter but balanced, big but not overly bold, its just amazing stuff. Id drink this every day for every day of the year and feel very very good about it. kidmartinek (1000), austin, Texas, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 23, 2009 A good beer what else is ther to say. Great taste, aroma, etc. Copper appearance with a slight cloud. Large off-white head, 2 inches+ that stays for the drink. Light, sweet resinous hop aroma. Frothy good character. Strng malt start on the taste, but crisply subdued by the hops which bring the balance to near 50%. Some wody undertones, and stone, earth, and mineral in the taste. The consistency is just one notch north of pale lager, which makes it perfect for sizeable enjoyment, and the experience is just 2 notches north f satisfaction. Should be enjoyed the world over, by men, women, and children of legal drinking age alike. Heathen (810), Riverside, New Jersey, USA

It was perfectly balanced. One of the best IPAs I’ve ever had. Excellent transition between sweet and bitter flavors. There was nothing very interesting flavor-wise, but the flavors were in just the right proportions to make this great. and it sure looked nice, too. I half expected to see a prehistoric insect encased in this beer because it was so close to the color of actual amber that you would see in a museum.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium to dark amber with an average to large off-white to cream colored head that mostly diminished, but left good lacing. The aroma was slightly weak in comparison to the flavor. There was moderate caramel and oranges; moderate pine hops, a little more grapefruit hops, a little less orange hops, a little earthy hops and a hint of mint; and a little apricot. The initial flavor was sweet and light to moderately bitter; while the finish was lightly sweet and moderately to rather bitter with a fairly long duration. There was lots of citric hops (both orange and grapefruit are high with hints of lemon and lime), and some pine hops all supported by a strong carmel-like, malt backbone with some orangey sweetness too. All the flavors were in perfect balance. The medium body was smooth and slightly slick with fairly soft, yet tingly carbonation and a lightly astringent, lightly dry and ever so slightly metallic finish. yesyouam (602), Fairport, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Sierra Nevada Estate Brewers Harvest Ale is a clear, solid amber beer with a huge, fluffy, yellow head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a big, fresh, citrusy aroma. It’s medium bodied with a quick finish that leaves the mouth a bit chalky. It has a nicely balanced, huge citrusy hop flavor with lots of orange and orange peel. This is an awesome beer-- something I would always be in the mood for. jstraw (775), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Dark amber with big, foamy beige head / Candied citrus and dry hop nose / Medium body, semisweet and creamy, with mellow, aromatic hops and good, bitter finish / Flavors of weed, pine, grapefruit, and candied orange peel / This wet hopped seems a little smoother than most IPAs, but still with a bitter punch at the end. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Grassy and fruity aroma with some citrus is very inviting. Beautiful golden amber in color with a mountainous rocky head. Luscious mingling of green, sticky hops, some citrus and apple and tons of malt backbone. hops are incredibly juicy. Lingering resinous bitterness invites you to take another sip immediately. Doesn’t finish quite as dry as a typical SN product. I think this is great! Bravo! dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Certainly hoppy up front, a bit of fruitiness in the middle. The only real complaint on this beer is that it’s overpriced compared to their other beers, which are almost as excellent but much more affordable.
