Pours a rich copper from the 24oz. bottle: More on the citrusy and thin side compared to other IPAs, with pine needle aromas. Long grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Light caramel and earthy overall, but an absence presence of resin takes away from a full-bodied experience that I was slightly expecting, or more so wanting. Medium bodied. Drinkability: Pleasant and light. Easily likeable. Rebuy: Yes. #184 on 04112009, DG.

Dec 23, 2009 A good beer what else is ther to say. Great taste, aroma, etc. Copper appearance with a slight cloud. Large off-white head, 2 inches+ that stays for the drink. Light, sweet resinous hop aroma. Frothy good character. Strng malt start on the taste, but crisply subdued by the hops which bring the balance to near 50%. Some wody undertones, and stone, earth, and mineral in the taste. The consistency is just one notch north of pale lager, which makes it perfect for sizeable enjoyment, and the experience is just 2 notches north f satisfaction. Should be enjoyed the world over, by men, women, and children of legal drinking age alike.

Dec 23, 2009 24 oz. Clear copper with a lasting half-inch of creamy foam. Aroma of caramel and green herbs. Flavor is resin, caramel, orange and herby pine; well blended. Medium body is smooth and well-dried by the hops.

Dec 21, 2009 2009 Version. Hop aroma is perfume and pine oil. Hint of lemon-lime citrus. Toasted cereal malts on the pale side. Tad of sweetened toffee/caramel.
Pours a glassy red-orange. Decent head, thick lacing. Lots of carbonation.
Flavor is lemon grass and pine sap. Bitter resiny oak at the end. Roasted caramel malts, sweetish molasses. Well-balanced. Real bitter bite at the swallow and aftertaste.
Feel is medium body, a little oily. Smooth and slick. A little prickly carbonation. A really nice, balanced IPA.

Dec 20, 2009 Thanks Chibbyman. Dark amber pour with an off-white head. Nice malt and hop aroma. The taste was great. The malt was smooth and balanced well with the citrusy hops. It is well worth the bottle price.

Dec 20, 2009 $9.13... pours a medium copper w/ a decent 2 finger head .. . an easy drinker, maybe to much so ... pine and light woodiness, some slight resin .. . calm ... what’s jack in the box hiding under that big head? grease burns? .. . a mellow brew but ridiculously overpriced for what you get, a standard ipa... i love freedom..

Dec 16, 2009 24oz bottle. murky copper pour with a finger sturdy looking light tan head. aroma is citrus, grass and resiny hops. taste is strong herbal hop bitterness with hints of juicy citrus. finishes a medium bitter and a slightly metallic. light tingly carbonation in the light to medium creamy palate. a good bitter ipa - but nothing crazy spectacular.

Dec 14, 2009 On tap at the Pony Bar, NYC. Pours an orange-brown with a medium beige head. Nose of hefty hops and some mild malt sweetness. Flavor is nicely balanced blend of hops and malts, perhaps a bit heavier on the hops. Piney, citrusy hop notes with some sweet, malty toffee flavors. Mildly bitter from the hops and still crispl. Clean, tasty finish. Solid IPA.
