Commercial Description:
Our Harvest Ale was the first American beer ever brewed with 100% fresh picked, "wet hops." In just one day, we harvest hops in Yakima, WA, ship them that night to our brewery in Chico, CA, and then rush them into the brew kettle as they are unloaded at dawn the next day.

This extraordinary effort creates a beer with unmatched aromatics of pine and citrus with layers of spicey sweet notes that hop fanatic like us dream of all year. Enjoy!

Dark red-orange, thick creamy off-white head. Clingy lace. Spicy hoppy nose of fruit and flowers. soft malts and equally soft hops in huge abundance. Very aromatic. Bitter without being at all astringent or harsh. Soooo good!

Bomber at Jerry’s. Caramel amber with big, foamy beige head / Complex citrus and resin nose / Medium body, creamy, good balance favoring sharp hops with very good, biting, slightly sweet, finish / Flavors of orange, grapefruit, pine resin, and caramel / Beautifully balanced, comparably favorably with double ipas.

Pours a beautiful coppery red color with a thick foamy off-white head and decent lacing. Aroma is strong, but not overpowering. Pine and spices. Flavor is similar--some sweet malts are present at first but are quickly overtaken by the piney hops bitterness. This won’t be a favorite for those who think "the more bitter the better" when it comes to IPAs. But it’s a very refreshing beer and, in terms of value (less than $3 for a 24 oz bottle), it’s tough to beat.

THOUGHTS: Did not expect this to be this good. Very hoppy, but not real bitter. Went down easy. Well-balanced and smooth. Brilliant beer. TECHNICAL: Bottle, 12th Release. Poured a sparkling, medium to dark amber with a large to huge, off-white head that mostly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma was a little weak, but great. There was light to moderate caramel malt, and moderate to heavy grapefruit and orange hops. The flavor started out sweet and acidic and a little bitter; while the finish was bitter but not harsh with a fairly long duration. There was some caramel malt and a lot of orange and grapefruit hops. The orange goes from the sweet meat to the bitter rind. The medium body was fairly oily with tingly carbonation and a light alcoholic and slightly metallic finish.

2007 bottle - 11th edition - pours a nice amber color with a thick foamy white head...good retention and heavy soapy lacing. aroma is very earthy with notes of pine and spiciness...maybe a hint of grapefruit. flavor displays exactly what the commercial description claims with lots of pine and some spice and citrus. mouthfeel is thick and creamy...almost syrupy but not sticky. finsih lingers for a bit with grapefruit. nice beer.

Amber appearance with a thick off white head. Aroma is basically hops. Taste is more hops without being overly bitter. Under the hops is some spices and toffee flavors with a light malt balance. Overall, great beer if you like hops but not overbalanced like some strongly hopped beers.
