Commercial Description:
Our Harvest Ale was the first American beer ever brewed with 100% fresh picked, "wet hops." In just one day, we harvest hops in Yakima, WA, ship them that night to our brewery in Chico, CA, and then rush them into the brew kettle as they are unloaded at dawn the next day.

This extraordinary effort creates a beer with unmatched aromatics of pine and citrus with layers of spicey sweet notes that hop fanatic like us dream of all year. Enjoy!

Sierra Nevada 12th Release Harvest Wet Hop Ale is clear, sparkling and copper. The head is huge and fluffy; rocky and bubbly. It has excellent retention and leaves thick lacing on the glass. Incredibly fresh hop aroma. Smells like hops still on the vine. Spicy, sweet, juicy, piny-- yum! It is medium bodied, a little oily and quite smooth. The finish is pretty crisp. It is a well balanced flavor. The hops are full and juicy and backed up nicely by a big malt body. It is a little peppery. It’s mostly a big grapefruit peel and pine flavor. It tastes very fresh. Well crafted! I’m glad I can get two glasses out of this bottle!

On tap at the White Horse, for "Still here Mr. Selle?" session, at their Old Ale Festival, 28th Nov 08. Coppery red amber. Aroma is suprisingly malty, the hops don’t overwhelm everything. Just the right mouthfeel - some weight, but not too heavy. Strong, flavoursome beer.

2008 edition. Pours a medium amber, slightly cloudy, with a thick off-white head that sticks around, and outstanding lacing. Aroma of citrus and pine hops balanced with sweet caramel malt and spices. Taste is very nicely hopped, with an excellent balance of sweet malt. This is an outstanding beer.

24oz bottle. Pours amber with golden edges. Nice light tan head. Aroma is hops, caramel malts, pine and some citrus. Flavor is hops, pine, caramel malts and some citrus. Sort of has a piney soapy finish. Decent IPA but my least favorite of their three harvest ales.

Pours a beautiful caramel color. Aroma is grassy an dpiney hops. Slightly sweet caramel malt flavor with a bitter grapefruity finish. Looks good, smells good but the flavor is a bit quick and a little thin. Very drinkable though and if I am not careful, in large quantities.

HUMMMM!
