Pours a rich, clear, amber color with a frothy white head that lingers a while. Smells of citrus, spruce, grassy notes. Very balanced hop taste, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, almost a bit of a sweetness to it. Probably my favorite so far from Sierra Nevada. Moggman (187), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Caramel apple, pine, grapefruit and slight spice aroma. Fresh fruit, grass, and caramel flavor with a slightly lingering pine. Soft creamy medium body. Much more well balanced and subtle hop presence than Sierra Nevadas usually sharp and aggressive hop profile IPAs. JAXSON (243), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Kind of odd 24 oz bottle...don’t know if I’ve ever seen one of those before. Pours a clear, deep amber with a faintly reddish tinge. Preety big soapy head. Average aroma of hops, slight pine oil. Bitter hops in the mouth, quite drinkable and pleasant, though not powerful or especially interesting. A fine drinker. Makes me miss Dreadnaught more than anything else. dwaggs2 (560), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA

Pours a darker orange color with a long lasting white head that leaves some lacing on the side of the glass. Smell is pine and hops. Taste is hops and it leaves a little bitter aftertaste. A really good beer. A must for hop lovers. branspra (225), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a very large, white, frothy head. Lacing is very strong, almost amazing. Smell is hops, more hops, and a few more hops. Additional aromas of brown sugar and citrus from the hops. Full, creamy, complex texture in the mouth with a wonderful flavor. Highly recommend this beer. Pawola22 (778), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 7, 2008 24oz bottle. 2008 12th release. Pours a very clear amber with a real lazy, small, beige, creamy head that remains on the surface and leaves a good amount of lace. Nice head retention. Aroma is more sweet malted than spicy hops, but there is a good amount of grassy grapefruit. Very rich and deep caramel and earthiness. Flavor packs a punch with a light amount of sweetness and caramel malts at first while balancing out real slowly with the bitter, piney hops. Very fresh, citrus hops that accent this beer quite well leaving a gradual increasing bitterness. The palate is full bodied, slightly sticky, and has a dry finish and lingering medium pine bitterness. Overall, this is a great beer. Fantastic balance. Heavily malted and hopped leaving a simple, but very fresh taste and feel. Damn good. smith4498 (916), Miami, Florida, USA
