Nov 21, 2008 Updated: Jun 27, 2009Bottle poured into a pint glass. Strong two-finger head, decent retention and beautiful lacing. Citrus hops dominate the aroma, setting up expectations of a strong IPA experience. Hops seemed more piney on the tongue, and were nicely offset by a clear malt background.
Medium body, great carbonation and a crisp clean aftertaste. Hops rule the show and do so very well.
2009: Another terrific offering. Well balanced, with a nice sharp biting hops taste. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel, but same crisp aftertaste.

Nov 20, 2008 Amber with a fluffy head that lingers.... Aroma of citrus and piney hops.... Citrusy hops continue through out.... I like this better than the Chico Estate, but this is not nearly as interesting to me... The balance is excellent for me, and it finishes very clean....

Nov 20, 2008 24oz bottle. Pours an orange amber with a large white head and spotty lacing. Aromas of grassy, piney, citrusy hops. Flavors of citrus and grassy hops with little to no malt backbone.

Nov 19, 2008 Pours out a nice amber topped with a cream head. Aroma of cut grass and citrus. Tast more of the fresh citrus and grass. A nice malt mix also. Another great IPA from Sierra Nevada.

Nov 19, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Dude, something missing. Has the potential for excellence but misses out. Leaves the mouth drier than a old lady’s…yeah, I won’t quite go there. But still pretty yum and I’d get it again.

Nov 17, 2008 24oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a one finger off-white head and great lacing. Nose is caramel malt, floral hops and light pine. Taste is malt and light citrus hops with a nice resin finish. Medium mouth feel. Decent beer.

Nov 2, 2008 Updated: Jan 22, 20092008 version. Bomber. Pours a nice copper with low carbonation and a nice, tan head. Excellent lacing. Aroma is pine, resin, molasses. Taste is at first watery and then a slam of resiny hops hits the palate. There are also some nutty flavors in there like chestnut and Brazil nut. Aftertaste is long and bitter. More watery than creamy on the palate like a lot of IPAs. Also not too bitter or unpleasant from the wet hops- smooth and balanced. A very different take on the IPA style.
