On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 06/02/2009. Clear black body with ruby highlights and a small frothy off-white head. Light roast, chocolate, faint coffee, and a good hoppy aroma. Sweet chocolate and roast flavor with a good hoppy bitter finish. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

On Tap at Own Club in Roseville. Dark brown with ruby highlights. Aroma shows orange, chocolate and a lot of fruity yeast. Taste run on the roasted side up front, but carries a significant bitterness and citrusy hop finish. Medium-full body, dry finish with long lasting hop and chocolate notes.

Pours dark almost black with half an inch of head. On the aroma I am getting hops, some malt. Medium bodied. Nice lacing on the glass! On the palate I am getting hops subtle malts and thats about it. Stays around nicely for awhile though. Not sublimely but still a nice different beer.

On tap at the Sudwerk Beerfest 2009. This dark brown ale poured with a huge tan head and a malty aroma. There is a rich chocolate and coffee flavor with some excellent and subtle hopping. This is a unique and delicious brew.

Tap at the Davis Beer Fest 2009. Story is that only 5 kegs were produced. Near opaque brown with a large tan head. Aromas of malt and rather floral hop. Medium plus body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is dark malt with a good deal of hop bitter. Bitter continues right through the finish. A candidate for black IPA.
