Aroma is very light on the hops, not much better on the malt, very disappointing. Flavor is harshly bitter with very little hop flavor and a bit of sweetness. Almost watery for the strength. oteyj (776), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2007 Amber with decent sized white head. Aromas of hops, straw, caramel, and fruit. Robust flavours of hops, pine, straw, and a hint of caramel. Smooth mouthfeel with earthy, hoppy finish. I enjoyed this IPA quite a lot. Dough77 (777), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Sierra comes through again with a hop monster that just tips their pale ale. Little more hop, little more grapefruitiness. Pours a light orange color with small white head. Definitly a keeper. Carlus12 (361), London, Greater London, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2007 Bottle. Poured golden / orange with off-white head which is rather small. Aroma is dark malt / fruit / hops. Taste is grassy / hoppy / woody with bitter after taste with smooth finish. larsga (2980), Oslo, Norway
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Thin white head disappears quickly. Amber body with light carbonation.
Some large yeast particles in the bottle. Firm sweet malty, lightly
watery, minty aroma with notes of honey. Sweet, firm malty straw taste
with resiny, minty hop background. Smooth, almost oily, mouthfeel. Dry
medicinal aftertaste with honey notes remains after the rest has
faded. Interesting and unusual. Good. (0.35l bottle from Systembolaget,
Stockholm.) bu11zeye (5608), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of bread, grass, caramel, and light pine. Flavor of grassy/floral hops and caramel with a bitter, somewhat metallic finish. Jonte (827), Gothenburg, Sweden

Copper/orange color. The head is off-white, quite small, but creamy. The lacing is medium.
Smells of moderate hops, citrus, apricot, sweet/sour caramel, some alcohol.
The taste is sweet/sour and bitter. Lemon, grape, caramel/toffee, and a bit of dark chocolate. Nice bitter-sweet and dry aftertaste. Medium body and light/medium carbonation with small bubbles. Good balanced and not very extreme IPA. tipsytoad (84), Jersey

The hops do not have that zest in the aroma or bitterness that more new wave hops like cascade or amarillo. Still, it isn’t too bad, just missing a certain something.
