| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2007 Sierra Nevada IPA is an amber ale with some tiny dust-like particles swarming around in it. It is topped with a small, frothy, off-white head that fades rather quickly but leaves excellent lacing. The aroma is of pine and citrus. Underneath that is straw, molasses, concord grapes and granny smith apples. The mouth feel is slippery and slick. It is light to medium bodied. The carbonation is soft. It has a softly numbing effect on the mouth. The flavor is of West Coast hops-- pine and citrus. The flavor sweetens a bit and ends up like cinnamon candy. This is like their pale ale with a little more oomf. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 15, 2007 This is a decent beer, but for an IPA, its pretty weak. I actually think that the standard pale ale feels hoppier than this. I am not that much of a hophead, so I enjoyed it. harrisoni (6871), Ashford, Kent, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2007 Bottle from Utobeer. I opened this with some trepidation as not many UK raters who’ve had this in the last few months haven given it that good a score. In fact they’ve said they prefer the SNPA. This is amber with lasting beige head. Very moderate hop aroma. Far more hoppy and bitter in mouth, maybe a little unbalanced. Not enough malt to underpin the harsh peppery hop, which lasts. It’s fine. Just nothing special. No great fruit from malt and hops. gunnfryd (3614), Kristiansand, Norway

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 6, 2007 12 oz bottle: Nice bog hop aroma, citrus, grapefruit, pine needles, and small amount of backing malts. Pours a cloudy orange with a thick white heads that lingers around for quite a while. Taste is spicy, grapefruit notes, and a decent amount of hops. Palate is somewhat long lasting with the lightly bitter/sweet hops. Overall, I think it’s a pretty decent IPA almost always a solid outing for SN. downender (2633), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 4, 2007 Bottle. Amber with a slight, short-lived off-white head. Aroma of spicy hops with some malty sweetness. Flavour was earthy with a hoppy finish. Not bad.
