Fairly piney, flavor of the hops is evident... Not terribly or overly bitter however, a gentle bitter finish... Good beer, like the torpedo better though... Rciesla (3777), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2009 Bottle at BeerBistro. Orangey gold, puffy thickish pour. Juicier fuller hops than the Pale Ale, a little more citrusy with some bite. Very frontal with a nice lingering clean finish. Fruity malt is very complimentary. Laclks offputting bitterness. I found this one bottle extremely good in an approachable way. Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Draft at BJs. Pours a rich amber with a creamy white bubbly head. Aroma is toasted malt. Flavor is impressively crisp, with a very nice balance of malt to resiny hop. Bitterness lingers on the palate for longer than I expected. Not overly complex but very good. beerfest5 (200), Simsbury, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 4, 2009 The first thing i noticed was how clear this was for an IPA. had that normal IPA smells, citrus, pine, etc. taste is alright, sort of middle of the road IPA, nothing too distinctive. A good IPA but not one i will seek out again. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2009 12 oz bottle purchased from Frugal MacDoogal’s in Nashville. Poured a clear gold/orange color with a one finger white head. The aroma was citrus and earth. The flavor was caramel with a citrus hop finish. The carbonation was a bit soft. The mouthfeel was crisp and the body was medium. This is another of Sierra Nevada’s good IPAs. SamGamgee (1465), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 20, 2008 Draught at 99 Bottles. Amber with a lasting head. Light earthy and hoppy aroma. The flavor has a fat caramel malt body, almost a bit buttery, with a firm woody and citrucy hop bite. The bitterness creeps up on you, but its there. More malt than their other IPAs, or maybe thats just the english hops not popping as much as the typical SN hop bill. For an English styled IPA, I can dig this. Different from your usual west coast, dry, supper hoppy IPA. A nice change.
