Good carbonation. Has a light citrus hop aroma, but I also detect a light soapy aroma. Has a light hop flavor. Very little malt. Finish is dry with a slight bitter aftertaste. I’m a little disappointed with this beer, but its worth a try. I wish I didn’t buy the whole 6 pack. Drew (2409), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2006 This poured a fairly deep color for an IPA, with a short off-white head and decent lacing. Aroma is pine and sweet citrus. Nice balanced taste that ends with a lingering hop. This is a good everyday IPA when it’s available. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA

Hoppy obviously, mainly slight citrus tasting hops and that’s about where it ends, not as bitter as others, and drinkable. SmellGood (318), Memphis, Tennessee, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2006 I have long liked this brewer so I had been looking forward to trying this one. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a huge creamy white head. The aroma is strongly sweet and sugary with a moderate fruity hop presence. Smells almost like candy. The mouthfeel is normal for this style. The flavor is fairly dry with strong floral hops and moderately strong fruity hops. There is a moderate malt presence and a dry and bitter hoppy finish. Not nearly as good as their regular pale ale. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

Malty, caramel sweet aroma with a hoppy fruity and floral note. Hoppy, citric flavor with fruity notes and a light malty sweetness. BetterRedFred (62), Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 8, 2006 Updated: Jul 22, 2006I like this beer a lot. No, it is not the hoppiest or most bitter of all the IPAs I’ve tasted, but I consider that to be a good thing, as cheaper brands tend to try such measures on the cheap to overcome their more basic deficiencies. On the whole, another winner from SN. Think of a hoppier and richer SN Pale Ale.
Re-rate based on Stone IPA tasting. Still love this beer but can easily see why it might not rate highly in the IPA category. This tastes more like a strong APA. Very good nonetheless. Dedollewaitor (3748), Odense, Denmark
