Aroma is wheat, herbs, spices and quite fruity as well. Mild bananaish notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Rather nice Hefeweizen which isn’t too sweet. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 14, 2009 12 oz bottle. Cloudy olive yellow with a white head. Nose is wheat and green banana with a touch of lemon. Creamy body with a sharp tingle. Taste is banana, lemon peel and clove. Peppery finish; a touch metallic. Easy drinker, a little sweet, lacking some body. Beaver (599), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy murky yellow with a large rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is lemon and some spicy yeast with a little floral soapiness.
The flavor is sweet lemon balanced by some earthy yeast with a touch of banana and some grassy bitterness at the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a little watery.
Overall, wheats are not my favorite style, but I like this one. It’s labeled a hefe but I get very little banana (which is good for me) and not a lot of spice - more of a Belgian wit to me. It’s very pleasant and easy drinking. dwaggs2 (561), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color with a two finger white head, that went quickly. Aroma was banana, clover, malts, and yeast. Flavor was sweeter. Fruit on the palate. Nice crisp clean finish. Another great brew from sierra nevada. Slipstream (780), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Nice Sierra Nevada label. Pleasant aroma of malt, floral sweetness, yeast, a bit of citrusy tang, and a touch of skank. This is a nice, mellow, sweet hefeweizen. It is not too wheaty or nutty, but it is not weak and boring like some American wheat beers. Kellerweis tastes like ripe bananas with a touch of clove, and it has a sprightly finish. I can picture this becoming a very popular hefe in the USA. jeff789 (411), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Aroma of muddled banana, clove, wheat and bubblegum... Flavor follows suit with the fruitiness of the yeast and the wheat shining through,,, Decent mouthfeel, odd styrofoam type finish... Flavors are a bit muddled...
