Commercial Description:
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Bottle: Pours a dense, hazy gold with a sizeable white head. Nose is loaded with clove, bread dough, lemon and has a faint hint of banana. Nice carbonation/body. Taste has a bit more of a toasted malt accent to compliment the other attributes. Very smooth, well balanced with the lemon and clove notes coming through perfectly.

POurs a hazy yellow. Nose is spices, yeast, toasted malt, lemon, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon. Flavor is very yeasty, wheat, lemon zest, banana, some hops, sweet malt, toasted grain. Very well done, I just am not a fan of hefes.

bottle: weizen: pours a cloudy, dirty orangy yellow leaving a soapy head. Nose reveals cloves, sweets sugars, citrus. Loads of clove, yeast, spices on the front tongue... some bitters, banana at the end. Medium to high carbonation helps to rinse this clean, also a mild creamy texture. Nice brew! Surprised by SN on this one.

Pours a hazy orange-yellow with a med-large head. An attractive beer. The aroma is fruity, with some yeast and banana coming through. Pretty complex taste started off by a sweet front, yeast, banana and citrus coming through. Some wheat on the back end. A fuller body and this would be a great brew. Pretty good.

Bottle. Hazy golden orange with an off-white foam. Aromas are yeast and citrus with spices. Wheat and caramel malts. Flavours are sweet grain with sweet wheat. Yeasty with light banana. Quite a lot of nuttiness. Dry on the finish. Decent.

Bottle in the rake. Alround rating: Quite wheaty, banana is subtle, quite a bit of peppery hop character, its far too carbonated for me. I think this is a decent drink, but i think people are getting carried away when they are rating this higher than weinstephan.

wow, really surprised that this is rated so high, i would have to agree with the last post, im shocked its higher than schneider weisse which i would consider one of the best of the style. its a really good version, but 95? questionable.

Bottle, bought @ Vinens Verden, Odense.
Pours very muddy, pale yellow with a big, creamy, white head. Lovely wheaty aroma with some banan and cloves. Low carbonation, fine creamy and lightly grainy mouthfeel. Flavour is rather sweet, good banana, some green apple, light zesty citrusy hops. Light coriander and cloves in the finish. Long, lingering wheaty and light hoppy aftertaste. Yes, this is a very good hefe, but there are so many better and cheaper ones in Germany.
