Commercial Description:
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Bottle. Really nice hazy yellow color. Good example of a hefeweizen. The taste has the traditional fruity character of vanilla, banana and orange. Big body for this kind of beer. It’s a little too clean and uncomplex to compete with the best german hefes.

One of the best stateside versions of the Hefe, this one hits on all points. Aroma is full of banana, wheat malt, clove and a but of bubblegum. Looks great in a glass with its cloudy maize body floating a big fluffy white head. Flavor is full and round with a soft mouthfeel, and just enough tartness to keep you coming back. A little sweetness creeps in over time. Well done!

Poured from bottle. Aroma is toast and lemon. Dark gold, cloudy - especially when you mix in th sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Strong white head. Big lemon and malt flavors greet you. Clove and spice in there too. Blended nicely at finish.

Hazy golden body with a fluffy white head. Great aroma of yeast, banana, clove, and a hint of citrus. Smooth, soft, and creamy. Wonderful flavor. Citrus, banana, and spice. A very good example of a Hefeweizen.

12oz - Pungent yeasty aroma, banana and clove. Flavor is doughy and spicy. Palate is creamy and smooth. A great hefe.

Bottle from Cindirene’s. Pours hazy deep gold with white clingy head and lively carbonation. The nose is grainy pale malt, hopcitrus, spice. Tastes crisp, pale malty, hoppy, citric, and spicy, with some clovey and banana, and a very well balanced mouthfeel. I bought only one of these, and I wish I’d bought a whole sixer. Very solid.

A pretty standard hefeweizen. Cloudy golden color, aroma of spices. Taste of bananas and yeast. Quite tasty and very refreshing.
