Poured a foggy gold with a a fluffy head.
Nose is of green apple peel and not much else.
Taste is somewhat bland, standard banana notes, no real flavors from grains, no other real yeast flavors, finishes with a lemon zing reminiscent of sorachi ace or glacier hops. davidajensen (31), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Solid heffy. Good balance between citrus, bubblegum and banana. Easy drinker. Biggest complaint is that the yeast was totally packed on the bottom and swirling or shaking didn’t budge the stuff. Made it seem like it was glued down which is kinda gross. fsbw21086 (80), New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Ahhh... finally got my hands on some kellerweis. This was sold out at all the stores around here but I finally found some and picked up two six packs. Much better than other hefe’s I have had. A little foamy but in a good way. I love how the taste is nice and balanced and not overpowered by bananas. This one doesn’t taste like babyfood as some of the other Hefe’s can. Nice spices, wheat, lemon zest and banana. Great summer beer for the BBQ. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2009 2 12oz bottles, served in a tall weiss glass. Hazy golden yellow pour with a big pillowy head of off-white foam that showed some good retention. Thick, chunky lacing coated the glass. The aroma consisted of lemon, fresh oranges, graham cracker, and some mild yeast spiciness. The flavor had lightly toasted wheat, banana, light orange zest, and some very mild clove spiciness. Medium, creamy body with lightly crisp carbonation. Could have maybe used a little more spicy clove, but this was good stuff...glad to see this is going to be readily available. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Bottle at Sheffield’s Chicago. Pours a very nice golden bronze, cloudy, fluffy head. Nose is standard Hefe, banana, light cloves and nice bready notes. On taste, the body is round and soft, taste is very well balanced with enough breadiness to pair up with the sweet notes from the esters. Very good Hefe. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Wheat malt aroma, little banana but there is some clove here.
The flavor follows the aroma.
Smooth full body.
Not too bad. merlin48 (518), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 30, 2009 Still haven’t seen this in the Knoxville area. Bottle from a sixpack located in Asheville, pours a hazy straw yellow body with an immense vanilla head. Aroma of clove, twangy wheat malt, lemon, and ripe banana. Taste mirrors the aroma. Clove, twangy wheat, lemon, banana, and some white pepper. Some freshly sliced Valencia orange notes lurk underneath. Quite good. This will probably be the benchmark for American hefs for some time to come.
