Aug 7, 2009 I think it came up a little short of being an excellent representation of a hefeweizen but didn’t come across as a wheat. I don’t like wheat and love Hewe’s so I feel I’m the perfect critic for this beer. So take my advice and grab a six’er of Kellerweis.

Aug 7, 2009 Sweet lemon and gingerbread aromas. Some clove, and a little spiciness. Golden color, slightly opaque. Flavors of banana bread, cloves, some lemon, some cream. Palate is pretty rich and creamy with a nice sweet and lightly bitter duration. Nice hefe.

Aug 6, 2009 Pour is a hazy orange yellow body beneath an inviting creamy white head. Bananas and clove, just true to style. American brewers (exclude New Glarus), take note, this is how to brew a hefeweizen. This is pretty spot on and rivals many of the German counterparts. At this price point, this IS one of the best domestic beers you can buy. Excellent stuff!

Aug 6, 2009 Sampled at the Denver Brew Fest. Pretty solid. Nice nose of bananas and fruity esters. Flavor is just as good. Really dug it. Excellent hefe.

Aug 6, 2009 Banana-like beer with a bit of spiciness. The aroma, sour and rotten, turned me off and really impacted the enjoyability of this beer. The flavor was smooth and nice, and I probably could have liked it more. But, ooooh that smell.

Aug 6, 2009 Bottle 35,5 cl. Hazy and opaque yellow with a dense, off-white head. Very sweet banana and yeast in the nose. Medium body, sweet banana and yeast again - no real tartness or phenols. A mild, smooth and pleasant Hefe, but I’m not sure I understand what all the fuss is about. 100709

Aug 5, 2009 Diolch Mr JoeMcPhee for this bottle. Nice hazy orange colour with a thin white lace. Fruit aroma with hints of herb, wheat, banana and clove. Smooth texture yet leaves a tingle on the tongue. Strong influence of banana in the flavour , hint of spice. Nice beer and the best hefe I’ve had in a while. Solid beer.

Aug 5, 2009 Yeasty aroma with some sour smells. Swirling hypnotizing sediment wheat beer pour. Fairly well mannered wheat spice beer initially. Just a thin head. Decent wheat beer character, fun and interesting. Taste grows on you. Becomes even more mannered as the session continues. Very nice creamy carbonation. Some bitterness builds toward the end of the session. Over all good beer experience.
