The aroma is wheat malt, toasted, slightly spicy, banana, and bubble gum. The flavor has the toasted wheat malt base with bananas and citrus fruit, clove, bubble gum that grows as it warms, and a slight smokiness. It is at the same time chewy and smooth. It’s nice to see that this is in the regular rotation. scrizzz (1345), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Hazy yellow, some banana and sweetened lemon juice aroma. First sip is sweet like fresh bread, finishes dry and toasty. That leaves room in the glass to pour out the sediment from the bottle which creates increased density in the glass and aroma. Deeper in the sip as well with a creamier body, still fairly dry in the finish. playitbybeer (59), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 4, 2009 12oz bottle, pours a light a tangerine color with a white head. Smells like banana bread...I can’t wait to take a drink. Very light feel, quite refreshing. A light banana and nutty taste, I don’t usually enjoy wheat beers but this is scrumptious. This would probably be a great beer on a hot day after dealing with asshole clients all day. Surprising and delicious. TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 3, 2009 bottle- yum. Love this beer. Love Sierra Nevada- this beer represents everything that SN does so well- flavorful, yet understated- beers of true character- not over the top, knock you in the face elements that drown out everything else in an otherwise good beer- this has yeast driven flavor characteristics that drive the beer without overwhelming it. This was admittedly not one of my favorite styles before, but I will seek it out now. drowland (1435), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

It’s clean, quality, and easy to drink. It has typical aromas and flavors, but it’s surprisingly smooth, and some would probably say it’s a bit light for the style. harbuck76 (134), El Cajon, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2009 This has to be the best American-made hefeweizen I’ve ever had. Poured into a weizen glass from a 12 oz bottle. Pale, cloudy yellow with a thick, pillowy white head, and heavy carbonation. Aromas of grass and citrus. Fizzy but watery consistency. Lemon flavor with a crisp hop finish, and some lingering bitterness. This is a well-balanced hefeweizen that compares favorably to the best German examples. I’d love to line this one up side-by-side with Weihenstephaner or Paulaner.
