Commercial Description:
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Pours a pillowy, lacing, white head with a hazy golden straw colored body. Smells and tastes of yeast, banana, and clove. Solid wheat beer.

aroma is ester-full with predominant note of heavy clove, bordering on smoke. deeply and darkly spicy. during a taste, the aroma broadens, revealing the sweeter side of weizen yeast, some tropical fruit. appearance is eggy, clouded and sunny. kudos for a weizen with a different sort of esters then the usual fare.

Bottle pours a desidedly orange ellow. Bige fluffy white head. Soft aroma of wheat and bubblegum and banana. Lavor is a ver nice soft combination o the above with a little bavarian spice. Soft full palatte that is lively carbonatwd but not fizzy. Delicious. I happen to be brewing a GernanHef right now and I hope it turns out something like this.

Bottle. Poured with a bright yellow color but completely opaque and hazy, with a gigantic head. The aroma is classic Germany -- banana and yeast. It drinks with the same classical characteristics, quite effervescent and tangy on the palate. A delicious hefeweizen! (#3600, 11 July 2009)

Bottle. Pours a nice cloudy golden color with a very large frothy head. Aroma of banana, cloves, and wheat. Flavor is very nice: banana and wheat dominate, but the spice is also present. Very nice medium bodied hefe. And at the price they are charging for it, it is sure to be a summer staple of mine.

Cloudy yellow pour with nice white head. Lemon and clove all over the nose. Flavor is banana with lemon zest and spice. Nice bite of yeast as well that round out a great texture. Not a style that I tend to grab, but this is good.

12oz bottle-pours a rich white head that laces and cloudy straw yellow color. Aroma is lemon/banana/clove, light malt. Taste is lemon/banana/clove, light malt/wheat, creamy. Towards medium body. Soft carbonation. Thanks butters for sharing.

Very tasty but a little bit too far to the banana/pear side of the spectrum as opposed to the clove/yeastiness extreme, which I tend to prefer.
