Commercial Description:
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Local bottle. Very nice pour; cloudy gold colour with a thick, fluffy white head. Pleasant aroma of wheat, banana, yeast and a little spice. Great flavour too, but maybe a little thin. Nice hints of citrus though. Certainly enjoyable.

Rich, nose-filling aroma is wheaty and yeasty with just a hint of honey. It pours a hazy, appetizing amber with a fairly thick white head. Flavor is downright delicious, strongly wheaty with an undertone of yeast, a hint of citrus and just a whisper of honey sweetness. Texture is very tingly and pleasant. One of the best Hefeweizens I have ever had.

bottle 12oz. - Poured piss yellow with thin white head. Aroma - some skunk and wheat, hope it tastes better!! Flavor - Sour lemony and wheat taste. Better than last Hefe I had but thats not saying much. Also tasted some mild banana flavor...pretty good! Palate - thin mouthfeel and has good carbonation. Finish is dry with alot of spice in aftertaste. Overall - 2nd Hefe in a row and this is far better than first, still not my favorite style but drinkable.

In the bomber bottle at the 2009 Crescent Moon Summer Beer Festival. Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Has a german yeast sulphurous aroma. Very doughy yeasty flavor. Lemons and bananas. This is good, but it has too fizzy a finish to be great.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy yellow golden with a small frothy white head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is yeast, banana, clove and citrus. Thin mouthfeel with a dry wheat, banana and light citrus with a nice dry finish. Easy to drink a very good German Hefe from Sierra Nevada.

12 oz bottle from the Four Firkins. Pale, yellow, cloudy pour with a good foamy white head. Wheat, yeast aroma with some spices coming through. Refreshing flavor with subtle banana notes.

Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is lightly yeasty, and the flavour is citric, yeasty and bitter. Overall an average beer.

Bottled@SBWF2009. Hazy pale orange colour, small white head. Aroma is wheat, herbs, spices and quite fruity as well. Mild bananaish notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Rather nice Hefeweizen which isn’t too sweet.
