| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Bottle. Poured a cloudy pale orange-yellow color with an inch thick, fluffy off-white head that slowly receded and left some spotty lacing. Moderately spicy aroma with hints of clove, nutmeg, and wheat paired with some ripe banana, faint orange peel, light bubble gum, and some soft doughy yeast. Smooth, moderately crispy entry with some light wheat and a bit of orange leads into a moderately spicy middle with hints of clove and banana that lead into a lightly bitter finish with some soft hints of grassy hops and a faint yeastiness. Moderate carbonation and decent mouth feel. Overall, it’s a decent hefe that you can buy in 6 packs. It shows some promise on the nose, but the flavor doesn’t quite hold up its end of the bargain. Either way, it’s drinkable and enjoyable.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2009 It’s unclear, yellow-golden with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of yeast, clove, light banana and wheat. The flavor is sweet and a bit perfumed with notes of yeast and especially clove, that doesn’t leave much room for notes of banana and wheat. OK interpretation, bit the clove is IMO a bit too dominating. Angelmonster (19), Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Pours a huge 4 finger white head. Body is a hazy yellow with tons of carbonation rising to surface. Head retention and lacing are good.
Aroma is of typical hefeweizen, wheat with fruity phenols. Cloves are also in there. Hops are not present.
Taste is of fruity, spicy yeast and wheat/ malt. Not getting too much clove or banana, very mild tasting. No hops are detected.
Mouth feel is good, not too highly carbonated. Light bodied but not watery. Head kinda faded halfway, wish it would have stayed.
Overall, it is a very sessionable beer. This is one of the best American attempts of the style, not the best in the world but nice to see Sierra Nevada making something not overly hoppy jimmiec (63), Louisiana, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2009 slight fruity aroma, palate was wheaty, lemon, orange rind, crisp and sweet at the same time. body filled out more as it warmed up. jjh19 (4), California, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Appearance: Poured from the bottle an opaque hazy golden color. Decent head. I took the label’s advice and poured 2/3, swirled the bottle, and poured the rest. Solid presentation.
Smell: Distinct hef tanginess in the nose.
Taste: The tangy nose carried over to the taste. There’s a refreshing crispness that borders on a tinny taste. But it doesn’t go over the line. Probably stays further from the line on draft.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation levels were noteworthy with the very tiny bubbles.
Drinkability: Not as complex as some other Hefs I’ve had (despite what the label says) but the Kellerweis is a solid, straight forward representation of the style. I’d have no problems recommending this to a friend that enjoys a better than average Hefeweizen. elguapo47 (9), California, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Served in a 12 oz bottle.
Aroma- clove nose, phenolic, notes of citrus. very pleasant.
Appearance- golden yellow color, bright white head.
Taste- very good! great blend of clove flavors, with banana, hints of vanilla. very smooth and drinkable. nice carbonation gives it a light body.
Palate- light body, lively carbonation. slight sourness in the finish.
Overall, a great beer on a warm summer’s eve. would go great with fish, fruity foods. a very good american version of the style. UriahHeep (105), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Pours an opaque yellow, a shade slightly darker than the bottle’s label. Accompanied by a sizeable white foam head. Aroma is of banana and citrus. Honey, clove, orange peel and other spices. Thin texture without much carbonation. A pretty unique hefe, but not really my type of brew. Reminds me faintly of Duvel or Golden Monkey, probably due to having similar spices. In my opinion this beer would greatly benefit from a fuller body and higher alcohol content.
