Svesse (2597), Hässelby, Sweden Oct 24, 2009 (Draught at Bishop’s Arms, Vasagatan, Stockholm, 23 Oct 2009. 5.4%) Greenish yellow colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly yeasty nose with tropical fruit and grass. Malty taste with notes of tropical fruit, grain, a touch of yeast and dry, gassy bitterness in the finish. Fairly light body, mainly dry. Refreshing and tasty. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 1, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger: Light golden pour with a consistent white film of head. Zesty aroma with a peppery saaz hop character and crackery clean pils malt. The body is creamy and soft body. The flavor is nice and dry with a spicy hop presence and a crackery clean malt base. Has lots of grassy bitter noble hop character. A very clean Kolsh, pils like. Very nice session. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 31, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger. Pale straw-coloured beer. Thin white head. The nose is a bit crackery. There is a kiss of light fruit on the back along with some nice minerally/spicy hoppiness. Lean body but the beer itself has a nice integration of light clean malts and soft hops. Delicate and quite lovely... unlike most beers that call themselves kölsch, this one actually bears some resemblance to the style. badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Aug 1, 2009 Clear light yellow with a creamy white head. Faint crisp malty aroma and taste with grain notes to the finish. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Nov 24, 2007 Draft @ HDG. Clearish yellow with decent head retention. Taste is crisp and lighly sweet with a nice grain flavor. Finishes clean. Really tasty without being too watery or sweet. DYCSoccer17 (2187), Davis, California, USA Sep 15, 2007 4 ounce sample on tap at the California Brewer’s Festival. Sample #2. Fruity, estery, apple-like aroma with some lemon and a bit of citrus in the nose. Transparent light golden body with a small, white head. Apple cidery start, becoming grainy, biscuity, and malty. Finishes with a crisp, lightly citrus hoppiness. A lingering sweetness is also present. Not so sure how to style this ale is. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Aug 27, 2007 Clear yellow gold beer with a small white head. Smells light and sweet with a little fruityiness. The finish is a little bitey with a little ale sweetness as well. Essentially this tastes like their summerfest with ale yeast. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Aug 22, 2007 Tap at Blind Tiger. Taste is big on cereal grains, cookie, a bit vegetal, lightly fruity and mostly dry. A bit too heavy on the cereals to me, and almost maibock like. Light hoppyness from euro hops provide a decent bitter balance. Not as quenching as I’d like it to be. Not the best.
