| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2006 Tap in NY at a cool place near the HDG. Dark amber body with a thick tan head. Good head retention. Aroma had grain, roasted caramel, currant and spices. The roasty taste surprised me but I liked it. Hoppy finish. If they bottled this I’d totally have it on Halloween. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2006 Sampled at Brewgrass Fest. Coppery brown color with a medium-lasting tan head. Malt profil was more prominant in the nosong, but there was enough hops thrown in for balance. I was a bit taken aback by the hops in the finish. I COULD be wrong, but they seemed distinctly American Pacific Northwest to me. Still, a very drinkable beer, even if a bit anachronistic. TURDFERGUSON (1604), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2005 Very dark brown. Muted aroma. Rafting 1/4" head which persisted. A distinct herbal quality - something from grandma’s garden that I can’t quite put my finger on - sweet green herbs (basil, savory, something) over a dry maltiness. Palate is buffered acidity. Mouth is chalky. Finishes with a residual bitterness. On tap, Flying Saucer, Memphis. DYCSoccer17 (2192), Davis, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 30, 2005 Draft at Willimantic Brewpub. Light bready and mild yeasty aroma with caramel maltiness in the nose. There are also molasses and toffee aromas as well. Very dark amber color-very dark for the style. This is transparent in color with a yellowish head. A bit hoppy to start, turning more roasted and malty in the middle. Moderate sweetness. A bit thin and a touch metallic with dark roasts. This seems more like a brown ale or a mild rather than a marzen. Either way, this is still decent and tasty.
