MBison (335), Southern Highlands, Australia Jul 8, 2008 Bottle (350ml). Poured golden orange (clear amber?) with a large, rocky, off-white head which was mostly lasting. A superb tropical/citrus hop aroma with loads of grapefruits, blood oranges, pineapple and passionfruit with some caramel malts backing it all up. Flavor was extremely well balanced with a moderate, resiny hop bitterness, strong notes of grapefruit, stone fruits, passionfruit, some mild notes of marmalade, caramel malts and piney notes in the finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry/piney mouthfeel and a great finish. Very sessionable APA (even though most are). EFC1878 (33), Manchester, England Jul 6, 2008 A world class Pale Ale very similar to the UK style that we don’t seem to produce nowadays. Beautiful dark gold/amber colour with white head. Pleasant fizzy citrus aroma. Intense hoppy bitterness counterbalances a decent malt body. Lingering bitterness in the finish with an almost burnt malt quality. This is a wonderful PA up there with anything you’ll drink in any style. Also complements a wide range of foodstuffs - one of the few that goes well with Indian foods. Pure genius. BlockBrew (48), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Jul 5, 2008 Yellow to gold color with white head. Taste of hops, citrus, and slight spice. Bitter and balanced. drunkbeer (15), London, Greater London, England Jul 5, 2008 Nothin ’ like slamin ’ a case of Sierra Nevada Pale @ some BBQ -while some schmuck tells you "I didn’t know they brewed good beer in the US". Aroma of resiny hops , green apple ,Apple-Wood Chesse and lychess . Lovely flavours. Cascade hops and grapefruit all day and night.! Tessic (361), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jul 3, 2008 This Aple Ale poured a golden orange colour with a nice big, foamy, bright white head. To the nose there is scents of yeast, cream and hopps. The first sip was very smooth with flavours of hopps and cinnamon??? Finish was slightly bitter with a lingering flavour of cinnamon. Hopps lingered on in the palate.
