I really enjoy this in bottles, so to try it on tap is a real treat, although I wish I had them side-by-side to compare. Deep orange, big citrus oil perfume... ahhhh! Sweet caramel malt, zesty grapefruit, and a resinous, almost minty, finish. Delicious!

Poured a slightly darker Amber color. Had a perfect head and a good level of carbonation. The smell was great with a lot of hops and citrus. I was expecting a little more hops but I have been on quite an IPA binge recently so maybe I was affected by this. That said the general taste was pleasant and the beer was very drinkable.

Draft at the Silver Legacy Casino in Reno, NV. Just like the previous rater I didn’t realize there was a difference between draft and the bottle. Not as bold as the bottled Sierra, but I liked it better. I always felt that Sierra Nevada beer always had a little too much hops for my taste. This one was balanced perfect and went down smooth.

Draft. I guess I didn’t realize this one was different until I had one yesterday with lunch and it seemed off. Nice malty and hoppy aroma. Flavor was moderately bitter and pleasantly hoppy, nothing too big noted. Finish was clean and short. I’ll pay closer attention next time.

...better than the bottle, of course. Nice spicy hopiness, cleansing dry finish. Always better than most of the pales on tap, and great for hot weather. Good beer, with a weird aftertaste that is hard to describe.

This is a brilliant beer, perfect balance of hop flavor and bitterness, hop to malt, alcohol to flavor. One of those old beers that’s just perfect for what it is and that all the new kids try to imitate with varying levels of success.
