Definitely better out of the bottle. This draft lacks the complexity and depth found in their bottled version. However, the hop character changed drastically, even though they claim its the same...its not! Its a good brew at the bar, but leave it at that. Good for an APA, but overall and average Pale Ale

Almost as good as bottled. The lesser amount of hops is definetely noticeable. I like bottled much better. The color was deeper which was nice. Would definetely get it again if the bar didn’t have sierra bottled.

Ruby color with small white head and great lacing. Aroma is rich and fruity. Flavor is made of very nice, strong hops and fruit

Has a nice bite, goes down smooth, and has the signature amber pale ale color. Lot’s o’ hops!

I also prefer the bottled edition, the palate is a little bit better and more consistent. Probably the most memorable widely available strong hopped american brew. This is the beer that starts most on their micro quest. It is the catalyst to seek out the best beer has to offer.

5/13/07. On tap at the Philly airport. $9 for a 16 oz glass! Clear yellow brown with a small white head. Mild lemon-yeast. Light malts. Not much of a nose. Subdued lemon peel and orange. Moderate carb, medium light body. Pithy drying with some resin. Good starter for the BMC crowd.

For me I found the color, appearance, and weight of the beer to be the same as in the bottle but it lacks some of the flavor combination. Still a very good beer but the flavors do not interact as efficiently as they do in the bottle formula.

Smells and looks just like a pale ale should -- slightly orange with an amber hue. Good biterness and very smooth. This one is always a good standby and is consistently a good choice for an APA.
