Aroma of citrus and caramel. Mostly orange some floral and kind of light. Flavors of the same. A very solid APA...but nothing groundbreaking. Earlier Rating: 8/8/2006 Total Score: 2.8 On tap at the Trappe Tavern. Pours a translucent orange amber witha small bubbly white head. Aroma of light citrus hop and crystal malt. Light on both though. Flavor of light foral hop bitterness, some orange and a grainy maltiness. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Tap at WAH. Clear orange color, moderate head. Aroma of flowery orange hops. Light caramel malt and orangey hop flavor, with a mildly bitter hop finish. Pretty good, though I’m not sure how this is "extra special." Not a whole lot of difference from the regular pale ale, just slightly more orangey. Earlier Rating: 10/30/2006 Total Score: 3.5 Clear amber/orange poured by the barkeep to the rim of a shaker leaving no head. After taking a big gulp to avoid further spillage, I sensed a bright citrus hoppiness in the aroma. Flavor of light biscuit/cookie malts and citrus hops. One of the lighter, crisper and refreshing APAs out there. You never can go wrong with this if the draught selection is otherwise limited to the macros.

Great amber color, beautiful sweet first and sour after taste. This is an American Pale ale for the massed. Look out wimpy beer! ExSpectator (65), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Overly soft and clean for a pale. Full mouthfeel and clean finish. Earlier Rating: 11/18/2006 Total Score: 3.5 Floral nose, tha is not as big as I had expected. Seems slightly sweeter than the Reg pale. Nice clean and full mouthfeel with a slight metallic finish. hopdog (5606), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2006 On tap. Poured a light to medium and see through amber color with a very small sized white head. I wasn’t really getting anything that stood out. Some aromas and tastes of citrus, caramel and floral. Kind of a general / generic hoppiness. Boring (probably because I read the description on the menu and expected a lot more from it). Thinner body.
