Pours out a hoppy amber caramel with some hops, but not much charachter. I guess it helped wash down the guiness after seeing Poland go down 2 nill to Ecuador. bah SDalkoholic (1198), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 9, 2006 On tap @ Vini Vidi Vici: I was truly dissappointed in Sierra Nevada pale ale from the draft. I would of expected it to be better than the bottle but it was a real bore. The very same color as the bottle pours except there wasn’t any head to form not even for a brief moment. A faint aroma of hops and i almost couldn’t smell anything. The flavor is heavily watered down (could be the very last drops of the keg, or dirty lines). I’m not sure why but this isn’t the same pale ale im used to from the bottle. after4ever (2822), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2006 Draft at Red Robin, TJ’s, and a few dozen other places. TJ’s poured a soapy, off, unpleasant pint that almost made me question my allegiance here. Red Robin, of all places, replaced me on the path. It’s an old standby and will always have a place in my heart for that reason, no matter how often a more interesting or provocative pale ale comes along. Clean, fresh, quenching, balanced, and intriguingly bitter and hoppy through the mid palate, accelerating to a nice bitter finish. Well, "intriguing" for me in 1992; well enough done these days, and always drinkable, refreshing, and appropriate. Saarlander (1583), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2006 A little better for me than the bottled version, abit more balanced, I love hopppy brews, but this one is nice when I want abit of a different flavor to go with my meal,solid. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2006 Draft. Less hoppy and less body than the bottled version from a side-by-side comparison. Aroma of citrus and floral hops. Flavor more floral with some caramel backing. Easy to drink, but not as interesting as the bottled. hayden1215 (305), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2006 Golden in color with an ample frothy white head. Aroma is pine and hops. Flavor is mostly strong bitter. Finish is bitter and dry. johnnypub (10), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2006 I’m not too fond of SNPA in the bottle but I rather enjoyed it from the tap. Had a bit more of a hop bite, which I enjoy. Bitter in the beginning, while balancing out to a smooth sweet finish. mcnally (114), Burbank, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2006 Tap at PF Chang’s China Bistro. Some caramel sweetness up front, followed by a long, light hoppy finish. I’m somewhat new to American pale ales, but I guess they are considerably more hopped than their English cousins. Beer left a nice lacing on the glass.
