| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2009 On tap at the Jet Rock bar at the Philadelphia airport. Clear ambar colour, almost no head, but lingering head is visible. Very slight malty aroma. Slightly bitter taste with malty sweetness to balance. Probably should of had it before the Dock Street Rye IPA which overpowers the Pale Ale. trayns (241), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 18, 2009 On Tap. Pours a pale amber color with a white head. Aroma of hops and slight pine and lightly roasted malts. Flavor was pretty typical of a pale ale. Decent choice at a lesser bar. nickd717 (1348), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Similar to the bottled version but not quite as crisp for some reason. I guess there may be some bad kegs going around. Dark golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma is Cascade hops and some sweet caramel malt. Flavor is more of the same, not very complex but well-balanced. Nice medium palate. Pawola22 (748), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 9, 2009 On tap at the Flying Saucer in KC. Pours a see-through, light amber with a big, foamy, snow white head that dissipates slowly and remains very lacy. More great work by the Flying Saucer. Aroma is more sweet pale malts than hop dominated, but there is some flowery/perfume-like hops in there. Some caramel, but a tad disappointing in aroma overall. The flavor is somewhat better, but still leaves me disappointed. Sweet malty throughout with some caramel and a decent amount of soft hop flavor. The hop taste does increase throughout the sip, which is pretty nice. Finishes slightly floral with a moderate drying bitterness. Palate is smooth, creamy, and full. Pretty nice balance. Overall, I have to admit I’m slightly disappointed, although I still enjoyed this. I guess I was expecting more of a hop bomb (maybe the hype pushed my expectations over the top). Nice palate and decent tasting for a commonly found pale ale. Would make a really nice session beer for sure though. Look forward to trying the bottle version.
