jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA May 15, 2009 Pale gold coloured body with not head at all! Aroma of pale malt and cardboard. Medium-bodied; Strong malty and metallic taste. Aftertaste bitter and strong - not sweet nor terribly pleasant. Overall, decent but great to finally try this one! I sampled this beer on draught at O’Briens in San Diego, California on 23-September-2006. fidel (885), Livermore, California, USA May 1, 2009 Poured light golden amber, caramel, malty, bready, grassy, citrus, little honey. ROGUE (621), Newark, Delaware, USA Feb 5, 2009 12oz bottle. Poured a hazy golden hue with a half finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing. The smell was sweet caramel and a heavy cereal malt. The taste consisted of an upfront sweet malt, with a flowery hop and a doughy finish. Afull bodied beer that was slightly too sweet, but still good.
LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 3, 2008 On tap at BT. Pours a slightly cloudy light orange/yellow with a very small white head. Aroma of raisin, light fruits, honey. Flavor of raisins, lots of fruit, honey, honeydew melon, and some wheat malt. Very sweet. It was ok, the sweetness didn’t appeal to me. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 3, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Aroma of citrus and sweet floral notes. Flavor balanced between sweetness and slightly acidic citrus. Not overwhelming, but despite the sweet notes remained quite pleasant for me. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Aug 29, 2008 Tap at the Blind Tiger. Thick, syrupy malt aroma, a slice of rye, and a little chocolate. Bitter euro hops up front in the flavor with a pale, metallic rye taste. A bit crunchy, lettuce, a little sweet. Tough to drink. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 29, 2008 draft @ Blind Tiger Sierra Nevada Tasting. Golden pour with aroma of malts, light hops. Taste is lightly bitered with some honey. Very drinkable & nice creamy body hayduke (1620), Eureka, California, USA Jul 13, 2008 I have (had) a full case of this and this is not the first bottle I have consumed. I drank this one at my 55 degree cellar temperature. Poured clear yellow with fat white head and good lacing. Nose of malts and hops in good balance, and a nice mouthfeel. Flavor is slightly sweet, and the finish is the same. Good drinking.
