Served on tap. Clear amber body, tons of carbonation. This gives the beer a creamy nitro-like head. Gentle biscuity sweetness in the start leads to piney hops in the finish. Reminds me of Sprecher’s maibock, just with more pine.

Golden colour with a light sparkle. Big, clean bready malt aroma. Full body, light toastiness and more big bready flavours. Long and very well-balanced. A rival to Hofbrauhaus Maibock.

Not a bad bock, pours clear and golden, nice white head. Malty nose with a little bit of hops, not overly hoppy. A little less malt than your average bock, but then again it is a pale bock. Pretty enjoyable

This brew pours with a clear golden body with an orange tint, topped by a thick white head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and slighty hoppy with a nice grapefruit note, yet there’s a slight mustiness. Not much malt for a bock. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a nice hoppiness. Light to medium bodied, smooth and slightly dry.

draft: O’Brien’s, San Diego. Clear yellow color, mildly hoppy nose, some malt and hop in the flavor, fairly simple and nothing to get very excited about. not enough maltiness to it.

(Draft: O’Brien’s in San Diego, CA) You see the word "bock" and get excited, but disappointment soon sets in; The Sierra Nevada trademark is evident, resulting in a moderately bitter flavor, but one that isn’t very hoppy; Unfortunately, this disappointing beer is fairly light on the malt with a slight corn flavor, and a base that seems light, thin and generic; The nose is lightly hoppy, but has a "generic lager" aroma overall; Pale golden in color; Off white head has average retention but solid lacing

Sierra Nevada has a very characteristic taste to it, I think it’s in the hops it uses. This beer didn’t quite fit with that expectation. Mild malts, and even milder hops. Some caramel in the nose. Amber body. Not much head.
