Draft at Toronado in San Francisco. Poured a clear golden color. Head was white with good lacing. Aroma was of subdued grape candy and noble hops. Pleasant flavor of malty cereal grain, honey, noble hops, and a bit of citrus.

Malt Liquor? Having never heard of Pale Bock, I thought it was a one time, just for the hell of it type beers that Sierra Nevada decided to run a batch of. I guess it has actually been around for awhile because there is a 1989 tap handle for sale on ebay. Anyway, back to the review... On tap at the Madison Bear Garden. Not much of an aroma, as it was served very cold. Watery texture with a bitter kick in the finish. Some hops, with malt sweetness. Some cereal.

This is another great SN offering, but it can vary considerably from year-to-year. This past year (and the last couple) have been much better with assertive mid-malt (bready, rich) along with a strong noble hop presence for balance. Very much like a maibock from Germany in many respects. The main detractor is sulfur in the aroma (quickly dissipates).

Gold pour with some grainy lemongrassy aroma, plus hops and slight apricot. Tastes medium to light of palate, with the crisp hops, pale malt, some fruit. Refreshing, but not great.

Great British Beer Festival 2006. Golden colour with a thick white head. Sweet with a noticeable alcohol burn. Average for the style but very drinkable in the same way that Carlsberg Special Brew is drinkable.

On draught at The Rake London SE1 16 Sep 06. Pale golden coloured. Almost no head. A sparkling first impression. Banana flavour. Dry bitter aftertaste.

On draft at O’briens...i have searched this beer out and almost fainted when I saw they had it. Clear golden color with no head. Grainy aroma. Smooth taste with a bit of hops involved. Kind of thin. Nothing too special, but was glad to try it.
