Dark brown bodied ale. Aroma is very minimal. Taste is much better than the aroma. I taste roasted barley, chocolate, coffee. Very smooth porter.

Nice damn porter by Sierra Nevada. Excellently balanced. Rich malts with some sweet notes as well. Easy to drink. Great session porter.

I was fuckenay pumped to try this one. Poured a nice dark brown with a foamy tan head. Roasty malt and slight bitter chocolate taste. Very smooth brew. Very smooth drinking beer.

Dark brown in color... Aroma of roasted malts... Flavor has hints of espresso and roasted malts... Palate has notes of coffee and dark chocolate... Very good porter, but they make way better stuff...

Sampled at Made in the Shade 2009. Much better from the bottle and less cold. This sampling, poured black with no head. Roasty aroma. Taste is very thin and roasty. Not drinkable at all. Bottled I remember this having a beautiful dark fruit character that melded really well with the piney/spicey hop character, and was very drinkable. This was not the same beer.

Right off the bat we have a nice dark coffee look to it, not quite opaque. Head is golden marshmallow brown. Nice look to it. Smells of cocoa, little bit of zesty hops. Nice little smoky short finish in the end. Solid, wouldn’t want any more hops.

Pours dark, translucent mahogany with a tall creamy tan head that has excellent retention and leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma is roast, caramel, mild coffee, a surprising amount of citrus, chocolate milk and some light herbal notes. Flavor is roast, bittersweet chocolate, lacto like sweetness, sweet cereal grain, mild coffee. Finish brings a little toastier of a chocolate note, some tartness and caramel fade. Palate is thin to medium body, slightly chalky and slightly dry throughout. Good stuff overall, not great.
