Smells of sweet malts with hints of coffee with a nutty undertone. Not too carbonated. Has a smooth roasted toffee malt flavor with a hint of chocolate. A pleasant experience. One of the better porters I’ve had in a while. bradlyc77 (226), Sebastopol, California, USA

A very standard Porter (imho), a little earthy, some chocolate, nice roasted taste. Very enjoyable. Pawola22 (764), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown body with a finger-width, foamy, khaki brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a lot of nice lacing. Aroma is dry and earthy porter. Mostly chocolate and coffee while maintaining a light malty sweetness. Not as roasty as I was expecting, but still has some. Light citrus hops are in there as well. Flavor is very delicate, but well balanced. Solid amount of roasts throughout as well as a mellow chocolate and light citrus hoppiness. A real subtle sweetness because its not heavily malted at all. Palate is light, but smooth. Finishes dry, earthy, and soft with a moderate sweet/roast aftertaste. Overall, a very solid porter, just not as rich and bold as some of the other noteable ones out there. Despite that, good flavor, balance, and easy drinking body.
