| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 19, 2009 12oz bottle. A classic American Porter, I’ve had it dozens of times and hold it in high regard. Thick brown-black color. Foamy dissipating head. Smooth chocolate roasty malts. Sugary and sweet, but balances out well with the minimal hops. A classic. cellar (503), Dublin, Ireland

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2009 As a porter, I really can’t complain with this one. Nice roasty smell, pours black with biscuit head. Flavor is roasty malts, sugar (but not cloyingly sugary) and a touch of smoke. Ends on the classic Porter bitter/roasty note that displays more carbon from the roasting than from the hop. McGarnigle (318), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Powder blue bottle; cannot decipher the date. World class head! Smells kind of hoppy for a porter, and tastes along those lines as well. Not a lot of roasted malts. With my eyes closed I might not guess the style. Body is a bit light also, but still a pretty good beer. NosirIwont (1186), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with a small off-white/greyish head. Aroma has remote hop notes in the vicinity of the glass. Sweet, roasted malts in the glass itself with creamy notes which develops as it warms. Bread/rye notes as it warms further. Remote metallic notes. Sweetish, roasted flavour with metallic notes. Slightly watery finish with a mild bitterness. Lingering sweet, roasted malt notes and a faint apple note. Feels a bit ’mild’, but this makes it quite drinkable. 08-01-09. Borresteijn (1443), Amsterdam, Netherlands
