What a great beer this was. My tastes have recently shifted from girly fruity wheat beers to porters, and this beer is exactly why. Poured a thick, light brown head. Color was dark cola, or even coffee. Heavy malt smell. Such a creamy mouthfeel, makes you really want to have another. Great lacing, all the way down the glass. Complex finish...almost sweet, with a hint of chocolate to start before the bitterness kicks in to balance. Very easy to drink.

12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin, but creamy and resilient, offwhite head, good lace. Smells dark and roasty malty, slightly sour, slight hops as well. Tastes about the same, roasty and sweet malty, slight coffee, slight dark chocolate. Medium body, good carbonation.

Poured from 12oz bottle into pint glass. Dark brown with tinges of red; thin, quickly diminishing head. Aromas of dark malt. Tastes of dark malt and dark dried fruit. Thin to medium mouthfeel. A bit watery for a porter. higher hop count gives a somewhat clean finish. This is very drinkable. While not nearly as complex as true British porters, this is a good ’gateway’ porter for someone wishing to try the style.

Deep brown color with an amber hue and a thick, rocky tan head that hangs onto the edge of the glass. Roasted aroma with a hint of chocolate. Rich and malty with a bit of coffee and a bitter, slightly dry finish.

Very dark brown, with big tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, chocolate, cookies and coffee. The flavor is the same with lots of sweetness balanced with a marked bitterness. Full bodied and smooth. Very good porter.

Thanks 17thfloor! Pours a deep dark brown nearly black with a pillowy tan head. Aroma is heavy on the roasted malt and coffee. A tiny bit of nut and a good bit of bitter chocolate. Flavor starts out very subtle with some rich earthy malt and a bit of woodiness. Some bitter chocolate and coffee beans in the middle finishing with a very pleasant black coffee bitterness that stays mellow. Medium-ish body and moderate carbonation. Very creamy and rich and just a good all around porter.

Classic. Pours with a large, off-white, rocky head and a dark brown body. Aroma is slightly chocolatey with light coffee ground and even lighter hops. Taste of coffee grounds and some cinnamon. Water like mouthfeel, smooth carbonation.
