Very nice roasted chocolate malt aroma. Wow, great burst of flavor, more than I expected from the aroma. A very well balanced, creamy chocolate malt flavor. Very good porter. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 10, 2008 This is my favorite commercialy brewed Porter. It’s so smooth, and rich. The flavor is of chocolate and coffee. I can also tast the hops quite well. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Aroma is a mellow roasted scent. Color is a glossy brown with good carbonation and a thick tight head. Taste is mild and roasted. Starting with lighter medium body it goes down easy with a smooth feel. Finish is a mellow roasted flavor with a slight burnt bitterness and a faint hop flavor. After taste is a continuation of the bitterness with a little citrus. This is an easy drinking brew, maybe a little mellow for a Porter but still good. jrmac (213), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Pours black with a thin head, although second bottle poured a thick one. Smells of hops, malt, chocolate, and coffee. Taste like chocolate, coffee, and malt. Really nice and very drinkable. In fact this is one of the most drinkable porters I have tasted in a while. elihapa (1069), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2008 bottle. Pours a dark brown with a one inch foamy tan head. Smells of rich malts, copper, coffee and roasts. Flavor is initially quite sweet. Complemented with soft carbonation, the rich flavor features brown sugar, chocolate malts, dark chocolate, and a hint of candied cherries. Finishes dry but not bitter. Very enjoyable. Lastly, I think of this as a “light” porter: very drinkable, sweet and well balanced.)
