Roasty, a nice bit of caramel malt, creamy mouthfeel, assertive yet balanced hopping. Chocolatey nose, sweetness gives way to the nugget bitterness quickly. Lingering roastiness like I just had an espresso. So delicious- I have many associated memories attached to this beer from the past 10 or 15 years. A benchmark for the west coast US style porter, consistency endures at this brewery, I hope they brew forever. ejono (1), San Luis Obispo, California, USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Updated: Mar 9, 2008My favorite porter so far. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Nice roasted aroma, smells of a delicious earthy coffee. Pours very dark brown with a thick and creamy tan head. Strong initial roasted coffee/week chocolate taste that goes down smooth and creamy. Maybe a few earthy smoked notes in between, leaves primarily a dry slightly bitter note on the tongue. A very decent porter. austone (1039), Turku; Pori, Finland

Drinkable porter. rustychiles (1068), Mesa, Arizona, USA
